Atrium:
The Atrium is an excellent area for hosting larger events, and we invite you to use it. Listed below are items available for event use (on a first come, first served basis):
- 5 8ft tables
- 5 6ft tables
- 9 “highboy” cocktail tables
- 100 orange chairs
- Mobile PA system and microphone
All tables used must be folded and placed underneath the Atrium staircase. Other items should be placed in an area that is pre-arranged with either the GISB building manager or the HLS events coordinator if your event ends after normal business hours. Trash cans in the Atrium must be emptied. Click here for trash information. If small round tables are moved from the Atrium or Global Lounge for your event, please return them to their proper location.
Warming kitchen:
The warming kitchen is an excellent resource, and we need your help to keep it that way!
- Make sure you wipe down all surfaces in the warming kitchen after your event.
- Trash must be taken out from the warming kitchen and placed into the mobile bin we have located on the lower level. (See trash instructions.)
- We do not have freezers in the warming kitchen. We have refrigerators only.
- Food may be placed in the refrigerators, however food cannot be stored in them after your event unless you have made previous arrangements with the GISB building manager (gisbroom@iu.edu). If food is left in the refrigerator without prior arrangements, it will be thrown out the next morning.
- Warmers are an excellent way to keep your food hot before serving. They do not reach a high enough temperature to actually cook food. Please feel free to use the warmers in our warming kitchen, but make sure you turn them off before you leave.
- Finally, in an effort to avoid contamination, we ask that sinks be thoroughly wiped out after each use. Failure to do so may lead to bacteria growth and strange smells and no one wants that.
- DO NOT rinse food down the drains!
