The new Global and International Studies Building, designed by the architectural firm Ennead Architects LLP, brings together Indiana University’s highly ranked language, area studies, and international studies programs into a new state-of-the-art facility that will provide an interdisciplinary academic home for the Hamilton Lugar School of Global and International Studies. The design for the GISB incorporates a sustainable strategy and building principles consistent with LEED certification benchmarks. In February 2016, the Global and International Studies Building was awarded LEED Gold certification.
Designed to foster collaborative and interdisciplinary learning and research
Each time I enter this building, I am struck by how light attaches itself to the stone wall in the atrium, by the sensation of floating in air when I am on the third-floor walkway, and by the sublime sense of calm induced by the view of the arboretum from the classrooms
