A symbol of IU's commitment to the future

The Global and International Studies Building (GISB) is located at the eastern edge of IU Bloomington’s historic campus, between the Wells library and the Radio-TV Building. The building is integrated into the topography of the sloping landscape, defining a vital new crossroads on campus. Thoughtfully situated and commanding panoramic views of the Arboretum and other campus landmarks, the GISB features two limestone-clad wings, unified by a three story glass-enclosed atrium. This striking monumental design element marks the intersection of movement into and through the building, symbolizing the university’s commitment to global and international studies, outreach, and exploration.
